Brief updates from the basic services

  • IAM4NFDI
    • 5 incubators have been finalized since the start of the 3rd incubator cycle. For more information have a look at the incubator dashboard.
    • IAM4NFDI has called for new incubators to implement. The next incubator cycle starts on August 1st, 2025. If you have an AAI-specific use case, have a look at the call for applications. Submission deadline is June 30, 2025.
    • IAM4NFDI has published their Service Onboarding Handbook on Zenodo.
  • PID4NFDI
    • The PID4NFDI team invites to participate in a collaborative initiative to further integrate Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) into the research data lifecycle, focussing on Data Management Plans (DMPs) and Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs). They established two dedicated focus groups to collectively address important focus areas. More information can be found here.
    • Every other month, PID4NFDI offers an “Open Hour” to give anyone interested the opportunity to learn about the project in an informal atmosphere and provide input. More information can be found here.
    • The PID4NFDI prefix registration service is online. NFDI consortia can request an ePIC prefix, which is free of charge during the PID4NFDI project runtime, to set up infrastructures that assign PIDs.
    • An extensive FAQ Section has been added to our website that answers questions regarding the potential of the PID Coordination Hub; now and in the future.
  • KGI4NFDI
    • KGI4NFDI has established a monthly consulting meeting via Zoom. Next meeting: 18th June, 3pm.
  • DMP4NFDI
    • The basic service proposal from DMP4NFDI has been accepted for funding of the Integration Phase following the Consortia Assembly’s decision. The Integration phase will start in July 2025. The Integration Phase Proposal is published on Zenodo.
    • As part of the NFDITalk series, Jürgen Windeck presented DMP4NFDI. The recorded presentation can be watched on Youtube.
    • DMP4NFDI has finished a survey about training materials. The analysis flows into their train-the-trainer concept.
  • Jupyter4NFDI
  • Jupyter4NFDI has submitted an Integration proposal on April 23.
  • Are you curious about how Jupyter4NFDI can support your research workflows? Whether you're a user, part of a community, or representing an NFDI consortium – the service invites you to a bi-weekly open hour (Monday, 9-10 am). Information to the next meeting and dial-in link here.
  • nfdi.software
    • nfdi.software has launched their new website https://nfdi.software/. You can contact the nfdi.software support team directly This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
    • The nfdi.software team will soon contact the consortia, sections and Base services and invite them to upload their scientific software to the newly launched nfdi.software RSD (Research Software Directory).
  • RDMTraining4NFDI
  • RDMTraining4NFDI presented its project at the EduTrain section meeting. We are pleased with the feedback received from the working groups and consortia. As a result, RDMTraining4NFDI is now moving forward with the preparation of an integration proposal.
  • As part of the requirements analysis, a survey will be launched in June. You are warmly welcome to take part in the survey and to share your feedback during the upcoming feedback loop for the integration proposal.
