Section Liaison Officers
The Section Liaison Officers play a crucial role in supporting sections by assisting in the preparation of basic services development strategies, decisions, and monitoring.
Their central tasks include coordinating discussions on similar topics across sections, monitoring needs for complementary activities and collaboration between working groups, and supporting TA3 in the coordinated monitoring and reporting of service developments across all phases and developers.
The Section Liaison Officer ensures that the sections remain informed about the decision-making process and that it supports the sections' goals for a basic service. These officers are administered by TA3.
See below for all Base4NFDI Section Liaison Officers with domain-specific expertise, which section they liaise with and their contact info.

Eva-Lotte Rother (MA, Library Science and Gender Studies) combines a strong background in librarianship with a longstanding commitment to Open Access. She worked with the Open Access repository Gender Open and at the Competence Centre for Licensing, where she was involved in negotiating licenses for Specialised Information Services (Fachinformationsdienste). Moving from the world of niche research materials to the development of essential research infrastructure has shaped her perspective on how to make knowledge both findable and accessible. Drawing on experience across multiple disciplines and research communities, she is skilled at maintaining a broad overview and communicating effectively to bridge different needs and perspectives. At Base4NFDI, she looks forward to contributing to the long-term sustainability of research data services and supporting the broader aims of Open Science.

Alois studied microbiology and philosophy in Munich. After an interlude as a freelance web developer, he has returned to science to help with data management. Throughout his professional career, he has found that moving from the abstract to the concrete and back again helps him to connect concepts, data and people or different perspectives in general. He is eager to leverage his experience and expertise to contribute to the development of basic research data services while bearing in mind the importance of addressing both minor issues and overarching concepts such as responsible and ethical data, the FAIR principles, Open Science, and a strong European perspective.
